I love, love, LOVE Apple the company, and Apple products. I love my PowerBook, and I love my iPod. I even love my eMac.
But I don’t love AAPL right now. I do love the kick I got out of AAPL stock in the last year, but I’m not so sure going forward. Long term I’m still long (as long as people love great products I will probably always be), but short to mid-term I’m not so sure.

SEATTLE (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp.’s (Nasdaq:MSFT - news) new Xbox 360 video game console may get off to a slower start than initially expected, but the software giant’s plan to keep production steady and expectations low may help it win against rival Sony Corp. (6758.T), analysts said on Friday.
This really, really not a MFST bash post.

TMF: Satellite radio ‘podcasts’- why not? / Apple (AAPL):
Okay, I know that Apple isn’t interested in a satellite radio iPod, and neither am I. The extra hardware would be expensive, and only used by a certain percentage of iPod owners.
Recently Sirius introduced their new S50 player, which looks remarkably like a iPod Nano and can even play mp3’s.

TMF: Let’s hear your predictions!! / Apple (AAPL):
Okay, let’s hear everyone’s predictions for Wednesday!
Here’s mine. Steve Jobs will first do an update on all things Mac. Intel progress, a Leopard teaser (probably not features, but just some hints). Then he will roll out PowerMac and PowerBook updates. Most likely speed bumps and small miscellaneous upgrades, but possible dual-core dual-CPU PMac.

TMF: The Next iPod Revolution (hint- not video) / Apple (AAPL):
I still think a video iPod will be released, and Apple will surprise with the content they’ve lined up. But as I mentioned, video capability is largely a value-add that will nicely refresh the existing full-sized iPods.

I did another interview with Phil Leigh yesterday at Inside Digital Media regarding the possibly upcoming iPod:
Real stream
MP3 download
Quite coincidentally, an hour or 2 later Apple announced a special event for October 12th. Most signs point towards a new iPod announcement.

Part 3 of this series (Part 1 being video, Part 2 being wireless) revolves around the rumored Apple tablet/ modern Netwton device. Apple even had a patent for a smallish tablet device.
